Recipes Using Bauman's Products
No-sugar Banana Split
- Cut 1 Small Banana into slices
- Add Cottage Cheese
- Top with Bauman's No Sugar Strawbery Butter or Fruit Butter of your choice
Makes A great low calorie lunch or dessert
Pumpkin Pancake Recipe
- 2 Cups Pancake Mix or Bisquick
- 1 Cup Milk
- 1/2 Cup Bauman's Pumpkin Butter
*For richer, thicker pancakes, add 1 egg and 2 tablespoons oil

- 1/2 Cup Yogurt
- 2 Tablespoons Bauman's Pumpkin Butter Or butter of your choice
Apple Butter Oatmeal Bars
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Cut in 1/2 cup (1 stick) of margarine
Press 1/2 of mixture into pan
Spread 1 cup of apple butter (or strawberry-raspberry butter)
Top with remaining crumbs
Bake at 350° till golden-brown
JOHNNY APPLESEED APPLE BUTTER COOKIES
In a bowl combine:
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Sift together and stir into egg mixture
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wrap the dough in plastic and chill for at least one hour.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly oil baking sheet.
Roll dough about 1/8 inch thick on a lightly floured board.
Cut into 2 inch squares.
Drop 3/4 teaspoon BAUMAN'S APPLE BUTTER onto middle of
each square. Recipe will use about one cup of apple butter.
Bring up two opposite corners of each cookie and pinch them together.
Bake for 8 to 10 min until lightly browned.
Makes about 5 dozen.
APPLE BUTTER BARBEQUED CHICKEN
- 1/3 cup BAUMAN'S APPLE BUTTER
- 1/3 cup salsa
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 drops worcestershire sauce
Use as a sauce for outdoor grilling
Or pour over 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
and bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 25 minutes
Apple Butter Cookies
- 6 c. flour
- 4 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. butter
- Apple butter
- 12 Tbs. cold water
Mix flour and butter together like pie crust. Add water and vanilla, Do not chill. Roll out very thin. Cut into 2 1/2 inch squares, place 1/2 tsp. apple butter on each square. Pull 4 corners to center and pinch tightly together. Bake at 350 until brown.
Apple Butter Cupcakes
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 c. apple butter
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. vanilla 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 Tbs. lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 (5oz.) can (2/3 c.) evaporated milk
- 1/2 c. margarine or butter
- 1 recipe Penuche Frosting (optional)
- 1 c. sugar
- Cinnamon (Ruth added this)
- 1 egg
In a small mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt; set aside. In a medium mixing bowl beat margarine or butter with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar; beat until fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Beat in apple butter and vanilla. Stir lemon juice into milk (mixture will curdle). Add flour mixture and milk mixture alternately to apple butter mixture, beating on low to medium speed after each addition just until combined.
Grease muffin cup or line with paper bake cups; fill two-thirds full. Bake in a 350 oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean. Cool on wire racks. If desired, frost with Penuche Frosting. Makes 24 cupcakes.
Penuche Frosting: In a small saucepan melt 1/2 c. margarine or butter; stir in 1 c. packed brown sugar. Cook and stir until bubbly. Remove from the heat. Add 1/4 c. milk; stir until smooth. Add 3 1/2 c. powdered sugar; beat by hand until spreading consistency. Frost cooled cupcakes immediately. (If frosting thickens, stir in hot water, a few drops at a time, until spreading consistency again.)
